Connect a bluetooth GPS receiver to Android device

  1. Turn on the Android device.
  2. Turn on the Bluetooth GPS receiver. It’s normal for it to take a few minutes to initially acquire position.
  3. Enable Bluetooth on your tablet by swiping from the top and tapping the Bluetooth icon.
  4. Long hold the Bluetooth icon, and pair the Bluetooth GPS receiver to the tablet.
  5. Open Settings > Security and allow installation from unknown sources.
  6. Download a file manager such as ES File Explorer and install it.
  7. Download this APK file to the tablet.
  8. Once done, open the file manager app and browse to the downloads folder.
  9. Select the file you downloaded above and choose Install.
  10. Accept any security warnings that pop up.
  11. Open settings, “About”. Tap on the build number quickly until “You’re now a developer” message shows up.
  12. Press the back button and enter developing options.
  13. Choose select mock location app, and choose “Bluetooth GPS”.
  14. Run the Bluetooth GPS app, and follow any steps needed to configure it.
  15. The tablet now has GPS signal from the external receiver!
